My family loves the chicken dance. When I say love, I mean it. I know there are some families that despise the 'sacred
dance of poultry'... Just the
thought of that polka music brings horrid images of dear Aunt Sally or crazy Uncle Stu in the middle of a dance floor
with their fancy new clothes from Filene's Basement. My family, however, yucks it up with the best of them and would
enjoy nothing more than to polka with the ones they love.
At my wedding, we had (of course) planned to play the chicken dance at some special moment in time. I had been playing
the entire scene out in my head. I knew just how the song started, I knew just the reaction my family would have, and I
knew just how shocked my new in-laws would be at the sight of their brand-new relatives going ga-ga over the hottest
dance craze from the 50s.
As the moment neared, I made sure I was at the ready. Ready to sit back, reflect on my newly married state and watch
my beloved friends and family do the chicken dance at my wedding. We've seen them do it at other relative's weddings,
and other parties put on by family members, and this was the moment for the Pearson's to do what they do best. Boogie.
The DJ cued the music, and a totally DIFFERENT chicken dance song starts up. I was shocked! How could I have forgotten
to make sure the right chicken dance song got played! The song is 50 years old, why didn't I think of all the versions
that could be out there!?
All the folks on the dance floor hesitated at first, but once they got the beat, they jumped right in and elbowed strangers
with the best of them, but I got to thinking... How complete would that experience have been if we had made sure the
right song version was played?
That's the level of detail I want to bring to you. This Chicken Dance Philosophy is all about small details. I want to
make sure that you are completely happy with everything. I want you to sit back and joke with your new husband
about how cute and fun those golden moments were.
The Chicken Dance Philosophy is what everyone at Pearson Entertainment hangs their hat on. We want to make your event
perfect. Let us share in your special day.
